Grace graduated in 2011 from UC Davis with a BS in Animal Science with a specialization in Livestock & Dairy.  She then worked for several UC Davis departments, including five years at the UC Davis Medical Center at the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science.  She has now returned to Animal Science to continue helping students.  Her hobbies include playing Dungeons & Dragons (as well as other tabletop role playing games) and continuing to learn as much as possible about cattle.

Quynh graduated from UC Davis in 2020 with a degree in Managerial Economics, and a minor in Technology Management. When she was a student, she served as a peer advisor in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Dean's Office, then became an Advising Assistant there after she graduated. Quynh's advising areas of interest include scholarship development, student events, and working closely with students, which she is very passionate about. In her free time, she enjoys baking, crafting, and spending time with her family.

Katherine graduated from The University of Arizona in 2011 with a B.A. in Anthropology. Originally from Arizona, Katherine is glad to be living on the West Coast, after having lived for four years in Southern New Jersey, where she worked with students majoring in the areas of Science Technology Engineering and Math.  Katherine has a particular interest in student retention, and loves to work closely with students to help them achieve their goals. When not at work, Katherine loves to spend time hanging out with her husband and daughter. She is an avid reader, and can often be found with her nose stuck in a book every spare moment she gets. Katherine loves to travel and is always planning her next family vacation. Katherine loves frequenting museums and brushing up on her art history. Katherine also loves to cook and bake, and often shares her bakes with her friends in the Advising Center.

Emma earned her Bachelor of Science Degree with a Disciplinary Focus in Animal Behavior at UC Davis in 2012. While she was a student, Emma was a peer adviser and a front office assistant for the Animal Science Advising Center. Her areas of interest include scholarship development, peer adviser training, and other topics. She was a sister of the Sigma Alpha sorority- a professional sorority focused on promoting women in all facets of agriculture. She is now an adviser and alumni executive member for the Lambda Chapter at UC Davis. Emma is heavily involved in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences FFA Field Day for the last 6 years as the tabulations coordinator. Her personal interests include reading, knitting, playing with her cats, and dairy production in the U.S.

Caitlin graduated in 2018 from UC Davis after earning a B.A. in Anthropology and a minor in Geology. Prior to attending UC Davis, Caitlin worked in the veterinary field for seven years in the San Diego area where she is originally from. As a student at UC Davis, Caitlin served as a Peer Advisor in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology, where she discovered her interest and passion for supporting students along their academic journeys. Her areas of interest in advising include supporting first generation and transfer students – both of which she is proud to call herself. Outside of work, Caitlin enjoys all things pop culture and likes to spend her time reading and also watching TV shows and movies. She also enjoys visiting zoos and museums, spending time with her husband and daughter, and hanging out with her dog, Gibson.

Lisa is the Teaching Coordinator for all Department of Animal Science courses. She is also the supervisor within the Animal Science Advising Center.  She hails from beautiful San Diego, California, but both of her parents are from England, and she enjoys visiting family who still live in the United Kingdom. Lisa is an alumna of UC Davis, and got her bachelor's degree in Animal Science as well as her Masters in Animal Biology within the Department of Animal Science. Lisa is an avid animal lover, and has a horse, cats and a bunny. Lisa has an impressive collection of Hawaiian shirts, and makes Meyer Hall a more festive place by wearing them.

 

Faculty Advisors

Faculty Advisors are professors; they provide in-depth information on particular areas of study and serve as a contact point between the student and the faculty. They assist students in selecting specializations and have full authority regarding courses taken to fulfill the student's specialization. In addition, they are responsible for completing degree checks for graduating students and determining degree certification for the major.

• Faculty advisors also discuss research possibilities for students with other faculty, career opportunities, and in general, act as a mentor for the student.
• Every student in the AEE, ANS and ANM majors is assigned to their own Faculty Advisor.
• Students are assigned to faculty advisors based on their specialization, interests, and the current workload of the faculty advisor. The selection of faculty advisers is done by the Master Advisor and the Staff Advisors.
• Faculty Advisors handle their own scheduling; you must contact him/her directly to make an appointment.
